For the more discerning and experienced faceters, or old timers who thought you had upgraded when you switched to the newer Graves Faceting Machines, and now prefer to switch back. Many of you likely learned on one of these older Graves Model 1635.
A serious lapidary work horse, large GE motor on a sound frame and strong cast pulley wheel belt drive underneath. ( This old Graves 1635 has been carefully stored in our dry lapidary.)
Graves lapidary is still in business since 1946 and will continue to assist you in any service needs, parts, or upgrades. Located :
* Modifications an active cutter may care to add , perhaps a variable speed switch. The current one speed switch, should be replaced or tightened and provided a quick electrical tape wrap.** Recommend a simple change of the on off switch.
* Below photos note the reservoir tank and assembly with shut off valve are in very good order. ( It mounts to the lamp mast.)
* Sturdy Faceting Machine Base with Scarce larger GE Motor!
* Heavy Duty Quill Assembly & Mast are highly adjustable. (Proper cutting angles.)
* Lamp, with the classic green still in bright and shiny condition.
* Water reservoir with lid and flow valve assembly all in excellent condition.
* Dop assortments with the "Table dop," also included.
* Transfer Fixture for dop to dop transfers.
** 8 Inch Laps ! (2) :
* (1) 8 inch Lead \ Tin polishing lap, (LEAD-TIN LAPs are the Best All Purpose Lap. This lap is used for polishing any faceted gem. It can be charged on each side with different grits of diamond or scored for use with conventional polishing agents such as Cerium or Aluminum Oxide.)
* (1) 8 inch Copper Flat Master Lap. A base lap used as a support.
* Also See GRAVES 8 inch "TopCutter," Lap Plates, for an easy pro advantage that can be used with this machine. (Not included in this sale.)
** Plus, PLASTIC LAPs. These clear acrylic discs may be scored for use with polishing agents such as Cerium or Aluminum Oxide pastes.
